About Gossamer

Connect lightly

"I don't want to give strangers my number until they're not so strange."

The Problem

You meet someone interesting—at a coffee shop, a conference, a friend's party. You want to stay in touch, but exchanging phone numbers feels... permanent. What if it doesn't work out? What if they're weird? Now they have your real number.

Or maybe you're selling something online and buyers want your number. Or you're organizing an event. Or you're traveling and meeting people you'll never see again.

Every time, you face the same dilemma: give away your real contact info to a stranger, or awkwardly decline.

The Solution

Gossamer lets you connect and chat without exchanging phone numbers, emails, or any personal information. Just show your QR code. They scan it. You're connected.

If it works out, exchange real contact info whenever you're ready. If not, either person can end the thread—cleanly, instantly, no drama. No blocking, no muting, just... done.

How It Works

When you first open Gossamer, a "ghost account" is created automatically. This is just a random identifier and a cryptographic key—no name, no email, no phone number. You're ready to connect in seconds.

To connect with someone, show them your QR code. They scan it with their phone. That's it—you're connected. You can now message each other.

QR codes are single-use and expire after 24 hours by default. You can revoke them anytime. Gossamer Pro unlocks longer expiration times and more granular control over your codes.

Privacy by design: We can't link your ghost account to your real identity because we never collect identifying information in the first place.

Who Made This?

Gossamer is built by Third Saturday Software, a small independent software company. We believe privacy shouldn't require technical expertise or paranoia—it should be the default.
